 Island Home Outfitters is a lifelong dream of Ashleigh and Jennifer Moffat.  Their inspiration and love for decorating comes from their mother Mitch. The sisters wanted to give people a reason to explore their part of the island, offering a place to get the perfect gift, Manitoulin gear or some home/cottage decor.  From setting up booths  at local markets, pop up shops, a small section in Mutchmor to their current location on the corner of Yonge and King in Mindemoya.  They offer many local and  Canadian makers and are always keeping their eye out for new things.   The Moffat sisters bring rustic decor and modern apparel to both their neighbours and visitors of Manitoulin Island. About Jenn

Hi I'm Jenn! 

Being born in Ontario and growing up in Southwest Kansas, I have been very lucky to spend every summer on Manitoulin Island. My husband Spencer and I met in Sault Ste Marie while attending teachers college in 2008. After spending some time supply teaching in Ottawa, Spencer and I moved permanently to Manitoulin 2014 where I continued to pursue a career in teaching. Since being diagnosed with Myesthenia Gravis (MG) in 2011, teaching became increasingly challenging for my body and forced me to self-reflect. During this time, my sister and I’s long time dream of one day owning a home decor store slowly began to take shape and has evolved into where it is today, with dreams of continuing on for years to come.

Spencer and I have loved our time living on Manitoulin Island and couldn’t picture living anywhere else with our two fur babies Marley and Bentley. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About Ash

Hello I'm Ashleigh! A little about me.  Being a life long cottage resident of Manitoulin it has always been a dream for Jenn and I to bring a fun cottage/home/outfitter style store to our local area of Mindemoya, so here we are!! Born in Ontario and growing up in Southwest Kansas, I moved to the island full-time in 2010.  Since 2010 I have been practising dental hygiene full-time while helping out Jenn in the shop as much as possible.  More recently I'm so excited to be able to commit myself full-time to the store while continuing to practice dental hygiene occasionally.  When not in the store you can usually find me with my husband Ryan and our 3 dogs Floyd, Charlie and Whalen in the forest or on the water taking in all the best things our beautiful island has to offer.
